General Pest Control in Perth: One Visit, Fewer Unwanted Guests
Cockroaches in the kitchen, spiders under the eaves, silverfish in the wardrobe? A general pest treatment tackles the common household pests in one visit.
What a general pest treatment covers
A general pest treatment targets the crawling insects most Perth households deal with at some point. It typically includes:
Cockroaches, including German cockroaches in kitchens
Spiders, such as redbacks, black house spiders and daddy long-legs
Ants inside and around the home
Silverfish in wardrobes, bookshelves and bathrooms
Fleas, on request, where pets are part of the household
Rodents and termites need different methods, so they're handled as separate services.
How we treat your home
Before treating, we walk through the property and ask where you've been seeing activity. That tells us where to focus.
Inside, we use targeted applications such as gels and dusts in cracks, crevices, wall voids and the roof void, where insects live and travel. Outside, we treat around entry points, eaves, window frames, doorways and the perimeter of the home. The aim is to deal with pests where they live, not just where you see them.
Getting your home ready
Clear kitchen benches and wipe surfaces
Move items away from skirting boards where possible
Make sure we can access the roof manhole
Put pet bowls, toys and food away
Keep pets and children away from treated areas until advised
We'll give you specific instructions when you book.
What to expect afterwards
It's normal to see more insects for a short time after treatment. Pests are often flushed out of hiding before they die. This usually settles down within a couple of weeks.
Avoid mopping along skirting boards or washing down external walls for a while, as this can remove treatment. We'll let you know how long to wait.
Cockroaches: the kitchen pest
German cockroaches are small, fast and breed quickly, especially in warm kitchens. They hide in appliance motors, cupboard hinges and cracks. Larger cockroaches often come in from drains, gardens and sub-floors.
Treating cockroaches effectively usually means placing baits where they hide and reducing food, water and shelter. We'll show you the problem spots and what you can do to help.
Once a year, or when you need it
Many Perth homes book general pest control once a year, often before the warmer months when insects become more active. Others call when a problem appears. Either way, we'll suggest a timing that suits your home and lifestyle.
Small changes that help
Store food in sealed containers
Fix leaking taps and dripping pipes
Seal gaps around pipes and cables entering the home
Keep gutters clear and trim plants back from walls
Don't leave pet food out overnight
Silverfish and other quiet pests
Silverfish love dark, slightly damp spaces like wardrobes, bookshelves, bathrooms and storage boxes. They feed on starches in paper, glue, fabric and dust, and can damage books, photos and clothing over time.
Our general treatment includes the roof void and wall areas where silverfish hide. Reducing humidity, improving ventilation and storing paper items in sealed plastic tubs also helps.
Renting or selling?
Some leases ask tenants to arrange a pest treatment when they move out, especially if pets have lived at the property. We can provide a receipt and treatment record for your property manager. Landlords and sellers also book treatments before a new tenancy or an open home, so the property is presented at its best.
